Natural Egyptian Luffa
The Egyptian luffa (luffa aegyptiaca) is a cucumber-like fruit that can be eaten, or dried to produce a natural luffa sponge which can then be used to exfoliate the body. Egyptian Luffas ship partially compressed and will reconstitute once submersed in water. As these are naturally grown they may vary in shape, size or colour.
Luffas can also be cut smaller and used as a natural vegetable scrubber.
Luffas should be replaced approximately once a month. When you are done with your luffa simply add it to your compost bin or green waste.
CARING FOR YOUR LUFFA:
Wash thoroughly with hot soapy water and rinse well.
Wring your luffa out completely or towel dry before hanging your luffa up. Your luffa will last much longer if stored in a cool, dry place, as opposed to hanging in the shower/sink.
Spritz with rubbing alcohol to sanitize between uses.
